Zyde-Seasons Greetings Bulletin - Dec 09
Friday January 1 2010
Here we are again, December and busy we all are and have been..................we have been very mobile Zydecats over the past month or so....Murchison Music Festival at Kalbarri...........Bridgetown Blues Festival..........corporate gigs here.........50th birthday parties there......community street parties over there(well, Cottesloe Hullabaloo and although it was a Zydecats gig , Lucky couldn't do it and we had to get Bob in to cover and blah blah blah .............anyway ....the point is we have been very busy and here comes another silly(Festive) season and we are still going at Clancys every Sunday. Thanks for all your support again for this last 12 mths .........the Clancys 21st Birthday gig in October was a definite highlight and it was great to see so many familiar faces both on and off stage.
There are no Zydecats gigs to advertise but a couple of extracurricular events that may be of interest to Zyde-followers as they involve one or more Zydecats members
The first is a fundraiser to be held this Thurs 3rd Dec that Zydecat Ric has organised and details are as follows:
Indulge yourself for a night: join us at The Ellington Jazz Club for one of the most exciting collaborations of leading musicians ever seen together on one stage.
Multiple Grammy Award winner Lucky Oceans is joined by singer Natalie Gillespie (Yothu Yindi), guitarist Dave Brewer (Dynamic Hepnotics, One of Australia's great blues guitarists) with Matt Willis on bass and Ric Eastman on drums. Plus, the remarkable saxophonist James Sandon (James Morrison, Christine Anu) and Victoria Newton (UK Chart topping vocalist) will perform with Graham Wood (piano), Tim Jago (guitar), Matt Willis (bass) and Chris Tarr (drums)
They come together to save lives: all money raised from ticket sales goes to Youth Focus to help prevent youth suicide.
A wonderful evening of music that will change the lives of others. Please follow this link for more info http://tinyurl.com/ycezpm8
The second is a Family Band gig at Clancys on Sat 5th Dec.
Family Band was originally put together as a vehicle for musicians and their musical offspring to share the stage together..
This Saturday's lineup will include Zydecats Bill and Lucky plus Bill's daughters Anna (vocals) and Billie (vocals/guitar)plus Clancys Singing Barman and Layabout Tom 'Dr Fish' Fisher(vocals/bass) and his dad former Cowperson Jim Fisher (vocals/guitar) plus drummer Murray Campbell and featuring the debut of Murray's daughter Katie (vocals/guit/keyboard)
We would love to see you there on Saturday, band starts at 9.00pm
..........hope also to see you Sunday for Zydecats regular session at Clancys....at this time of year there is always a chance that you'll run into a familiar face or two as people return to their roots for the festive season............and who knows Kent may be ready to get his Santa hat out from the back of his amp for a surprise Christmas song!?
