I’m eighteen in this photo with my friend Paul. He was a big John Mayall fan. It’s 1970. I’ve been expelled from high school and me,Mario, Paul and Paul’s girlfriend Diane are in Kings Cross, Sydney living in a loft above a panel beater’s shop. In this photo we’re standing by the doorway. I scored a gig, not playing, but being a roadie for Sydney band ‘Blackfeather’ because two of my mates -bass guitarist Bob Fortescue and drummer Al Kash - were in the band.
